Crowne Plaza Hotel

MSM Contracts recently completed major extension and refurbishment works, over 2nr phases, to the 4 star Crowne Plaza hotel in Shaw’s Bridge, Belfast for our Client, Andras House. The existing building including the guestrooms, hallways, function rooms and hotel reception remained fully operational throughout the contract.

Construction works were completed in a phased sequence, involving out-of-hours working, over a 6 month (phase 1) and 7 month (phase 2) timeframe and comprised the following works:

• 2nr vertical extensions to the hotel guestroom wings from 2-storey to 3-storey providing an additional 33nr bedrooms and en-suites. This involved removing the existing trussed roofs, concrete tiles, disconnecting services/equipment and waterproofing the floor plates to allow the rooms below to remain occupied while the construction was taking place
  – complete refurbishment of 117nr guestrooms and associated corridors to the client’s requirements
• complete interior fit-out to the guestrooms comprising new hardwood doors and linings, floor coverings, fitted furniture, decoration and upgrading M&E services
• interior fit-out to the en-suites comprising floor and wall tiling, complete sanitaryware package, vanity units/shelving and mirrors

– replacement doors, linings, surface finishes and M&E services to the corridors and extensions to the fire escape stairwells to accommodate the additional third floors to both guestroom wings
