Porsche Vehicle Preparation Centre

This project involved the design & construction of a vehicle preparation centre on the Sydenham Road, Belfast for the Agnew Group to cater for their Porsche & Audi franchises. The contract included the novation of the Architect and Structural/Civil Engineer to the Contractor team following contract award, in order to develop the technical design into the construction phase.

The building comprises:

Ground floor: 16-bay workshop with garage equipment; 10-bay valet centre; car turntable & photo booth; staff rooms

First floor: 12no. pre-delivery inspection workbays; tyre & parts storage; plantrooms

Roof level: 72-space roof level car park, accessed by an external vehicle ramp

Key elements of the construction works involved:

· Driven precast concrete piled foundations

· Structural steelwork frame incl. cold rolled purlins & cladding rails

· RC ground floor slab to a power-floated finish incl. pits & recesses

· RC metaldeck to 1st floor & roof deck incl. powerfloated finish

· Mastic asphalt covering to the roof deck

· Kingspan KS1000 Microrib cladding panel to walls

· Aluminium windows; external sectional doors; roller shutters & steel security doorsets

· Complete interior fit-out was completed to all vehicle, workshop & staff areas

External works involved underground drainage; site utilities; concrete slabs; wash bays; car parking/roads/footpaths; fencing; paving & external furniture.
