Banbridge Amateur Boxing Club

In February 2014, MSM handed over a newbuild boxing facility to Banbridge ABC. The boxing club comprises a main sports hall, office, male and female locker rooms, toilets, an office, store and plant room. The £250k SportNI funded project, designed by McGurk Architects was delivered under the NEC3 Short Form of Contract and within a 25 week timescale.
The single storey building is constructed with structural steel frame on reinforced concrete foundations The external facade is a combination of Renolit AlkorDesign standing seam synthetic roof system; Kingspan KS1000LS insulated wall panels; high level PPC aluminium glazing and Metal Technology System 23 louvres.
MSM were pleased to have been involved as main contractor on this project to provide a much needed training facility for a local sports club. The new building was first used on 15th February 2014 when Banbridge ABC hosted the Mid-Ulster Boxing Championships.
Clare Lodge, Newcastle

MSM have commenced a £1.6m project at Clare Lodge in Newcastle, Co Down, to construct a newbuild holiday centre for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. For over thirty years, the original building has provided holiday accommodation for senior citizens to enjoy holiday breaks on a seafront location in Newcastle. The original building was recently deemed to be unfit for purpose and was subsequently demolished to make way for the new building.
The architects on this project are R. E. Quinn Architects and the works are due to be completed within an 11 month timescale.

Projects Recently Commenced On Site

MSM have recently procured a number of construction projects in a range of sectors for both public and private clients. Construction works have begun on all the following projects which are located in both Northern Ireland and the UK mainland:
Annadale Avenue, Belfast
The project involves the construction of 15nr newbuild apartments in south Belfast for Triangle Housing Association. Work commenced during October 2013 and is expected to take 12 months to complete.
Fair Hill Primary School, Dromara, Co Down
MSM have been appointed by the SELB to construct a two-storey extension at Fair Hill Primary School, Dromara to provide three new classrooms and welfare facilities. Works commenced during November 2013 and completion is planned for May 2014.
Maghaberry Community Centre, Lisburn
Lisburn City Council have awarded the contract to MSM to carry out refurbishment works to the existing community centre and to construct an extension to provide a new main hall and changing areas. The project commenced on site in November 2013 and is expected to be completed by summer 2014.
Extension to Meat Processing Factory for Dunbia, Preston, Lancashire
MSM successfully procured the major extension and alterations to an existing meat processing factory in Preston, Lancashire with Dunbia, a leading supplier of meat products with headquarters in Dungannon. The works which commenced in December 2013 are being undertaken in a ‘live’ production facility and are expected to take around 20 weeks to complete.
Extension to Factory for Delta Print and Packaging, Belfast
Delta Print and Packaging, an international manufacturer of printed folded carton packaging, has commissioned MSM to design and build a major extension to their manufacturing plant in Belfast. The project started on-site in late January 2014 and is expected to be completed during summer 2014.
