This fast-tracked 18-wk refurbishment project to convert existing double-height IT teaching/study space into a two-level Student Services & Support Centre was delivered within a live educational environment The refurbished areas incl. a main reception point; open-plan office space; individual meeting rooms/offices & shared seating/relaxation area.

Key construction elements incl’d:

• Removal of existing M&E services; protection of live services
• Internal strip-out & demolitions; forming new openings for additional windows; façade demolitions
• Construction of a mezzanine floor inc. Easi-Joist system & plywood deck
• Ground floor: timber stud partitions; plasterboard linings & skim finish
• Mezzanine: metal stud partitions; drylined plasterboard linings
• Suspended ceiling systems incl. suspended raft ceilings
• Hardwood joinery – screens; doors incl. ironmongery; linings
• Handrails/balustrading to mezzanine & internal stairs
• Painting & decoration
• Internal fitted furniture – reception desk; wall units; cupboards; worktops & storage units
• Acoustic wall panelling
• Soft flooring finishes
• Fixtures & fittings – shelving; display boards; signage; blinds; fire-fighting eqpt
• Replacement M&E services installation; platform lift
• New entrance lobby & associated drainage
