MSM were awarded this fast-track project to construct a new single-storey KFC fast-food restaurant and covered drive-thru, adjacent to a busy junction in Cookstown town centre. The works were successfully delivered within a 15-week programme and required effective co-ordination with specialist fit-out contractors who completed their work packages concurrently. Project handover was ahead of schedule, enabling KFC to commence trading before the Christmas period.

The KFC outlet is located on a former car dealership site and the existing commercial unit (33m x 16m) was demolished during the site clearance works. The steel-frame building is constructed on reinforced concrete pad & strip foundations with masonry cavity infill walling. The building envelope comprises Kingspan Microrib cladding, a cladded feature fin wall with KFC branding, coloured render to blockwork walls, ppc aluminium curtain walling including entrance doors and Trocal coverings to flat roofs including the drive-thru.

External works involved erection of totem signage; forming new asphalt and bitmac paved areas, including roadmarkings, to car park areas and the drive-thru; perimeter fencing; railings; drainage works and services connections.
