MSM successfully delivered this project to redevelop an existing petrol filling station into a modern, spacious and accessible petrol filling station and supermarket, under the Russells Shop4U branding.

During the initial site clearance phase, demolition works including asbestos removal were carried out to the existing premises and an adjacent dwelling and garage. The existing fuel tanks, pumps and fuel lines had to be decommissioned and removed from site by a specialist subcontractor to facilitate the installation of a replacement tank farm, pumps and fuel line system at a later date.

The subsequent construction phase involved the rebuilding and commissioning of the new Russells Shop-4-U supermarket and ATM facility, forecourt canopy, fuel pumps and all associated fuel tanks and lines etc. The building has 3,500 ft2 retail space on the ground floor with a basement floor level that provides storage space, staff welfare accommodation, offices and food preparation areas.

Siteworks involved the construction of retaining walls to the rear of the retail unit, forming customer car parking areas, paved areas, perimeter fencing and drainage works.
