This major new retail development located just off the main Armagh to Portadown road has enabled the Fruitfield Service Station to move from their existing premises into a newbuild retail unit on a site next to their existing premises. This project was phased to ensure the existing service station remained operational throughout the 10 month timescale.
The 32,000ft2 Eurospar retail unit is single-storey above ground level with a basement. The internal floorspace includes a main food hall with approximately 7,700ft2 retail space, “The Scullery” restaurant, in-store bakery, butchery, hot food counter, an off-sales, stores, welfare facilities and offices.
Other works on this project included:
- Texaco filling station forecourt with 4nr pumps
- Road widening works on the main Armagh to Portadown road
- Forming access roads and a 128-space car park
- Lorry park area
- A standalone car valet building and a covered fuel store
- ATM building with 2nr cash machines
- Construction of RC retaining walls
Works to the existing retail premises involved decommissioning of the existing fuel tank and fuel installations, removal of the filling station canopy and resurfacing of the existing forecourt into additional car parking spaces.
