Role of MSM Contracts
MSM were awarded this contract to construct a new single-storey Subway drive-thru shell restaurant unit including site development works (external works & drainage). The building fit-out was completed under a separate fit-out contract.
The works were located on a vacant site off Boucher Road, to the rear of a KFC drive-thru restaurant which continued trading throughout the 5-month construction period.
Key elements of the works involved:
– breaking up existing surfaces; removal of existing services
– constructing a 900mm re-aligned storm sewer & precast concrete headwall discharging into an adjacent watercourse
– mini-piling operations following confirmation of existing storm drain location
– RC pilecaps & ground beams; RC suspended ground floor slab
– structural steel frame; precast concrete units to lower roof
– superstructure masonry infill walling
– Kingspan KS500 ZIP Kingzip standing seam roof incl. flashings; Trocal
– Kingspan Micro-Rib wall cladding
– PPC aluminium wall cladding to feature wall & feature fin wall
– PPC aluminium curtain walling, windows & doors
– 100mm fast drying screed
External works involved:
– incoming mains utilities & site services; underground foul & storm drainage; site preparation incl. hardcore filling, geotextile membrane & kerbing; drive-thru associated works; surfacing & paving; fencing; external furniture
